Join me in sharing the joys and benefits of Reiki through Reiki treatments, Reiki training, Reiki community outreach and Reiki volunteer work.
Reiki is a holistic and complementary healing practice that brings calm, balance and restoration to your whole being, to the body and the mind and to other parts of us that sometimes defy description. The practice of Reiki is extremely helpful when we are under stress and experiencing anxiety. Our bodies cannot reach the necessary balance to come into alignment with healing when stressed; Reiki assists our bodies by tapping into its natural intelligence, allowing the body to do what it is meant to do naturally; stimulate and nurture the healing process. We may use Reiki for our own self-care or to care for others in our lives. Reiki can support you in challenging times, through grief and to just feel better; it is a healing practice you can take anywhere, anytime. Whether you practice hara (belly) breathing, use Reiki as a hands-on practice or daily reminding yourself of the Reiki precepts, this gentle discipline is practical and portable, for calming and centering body and mind and aligning one’s heart with Reiki Precept values of kindness and compassion. |
Reiki As A Spiritual Practice
Reiki As A Spiritual Practice of Being Wholly Present was first offered through Rolling Ridge Retreat and Conference Center in September, 2024.
Reiki is a healing practice and spiritual practice that engages the mind, the body and the heart to assist us in becoming wholly present in our lives. The practice of Reiki is known to calm the nervous system, and as such, is a way to repeatedly cultivate pause and mindfulness in our lives and encourage, time and again, for us to be wholly present. When we become wholly present, it allows our true essence to emerge, our realization that we are simultaneously whole and imperfect, and with this awareness, learn to embody our full selves.
Primarily known as a gentle touch practice, Reiki is a name for the energy that is within us and all around us. The Usui System of Natural Healing, i.e., Reiki, was developed in Japan in the 1920s by Mikao Usui. It is a comprehensive tradition that provides a container for navigating life: breathing practices, meditations, principles for living and, yes, hands on healing. These practices help us to fully tap into our energy, our essence, our being, our presence.
This half day retreat offers the participant an introduction to Reiki as a self-healing practice and as a spiritual practice, encompassing the various elements listed above. The day includes some lecture, spacious opportunity for spiritual discussion through the lens of Reiki, lots of experiential practices and time for reflection and journaling. This retreat also includes Reiju which will be explained at the time of the workshop. Each student will be given a notebook for journaling and handouts.
After a day of Reiki practice, participants will leave feeling refreshed, grounded, embraced and wholly present.
Dates for this offering TBD.
